Mandryky cherry topping

1poundsCan of cherries
2tablespoonsCornstarch
2tablespoonsCold water
1eachJuice of lemon fresh
¾cupSugar
Water to cover

Directions

Heat lemon juice, sugar, and water to boiling a large saucepan. Add cherries, mix well, dissolve the cornstarch in the cold water and add. Cook until the cherries are coatede and the sauce is clear. Cool before using as a topping. Origin: Larissa Nokanova, Kiev, Ukraine, circa 1996
